In early December 2011, arcticfutures was asked to provide a briefing on key arctic trends to the Unknown Fields Division design studio at the Architectural Association based in London, UK.

The half-day workshop was designed to introduce students involved in the ‘Strange Times – Far North Alaska‘ project to the key themes of globalisation, demographics, climate change & resource issues as they affect the Arctic region. Additionally, we set such trends against a number of different characterisations of change to help participants develop a better appreciation of some of the dynamics involved.

We throughly enjoyed this collaboration and extend our thanks to Liam Young and everyone who attended for creating a great conversation.
